When I walked in once,
Your welcome was warm,
And now as I return here,
I feel somehow peaceful.
I know history has been,
Written and fought here,
As too, hate given voice,
And love mocked cruelly.
But as I allow tranquillity,
To wash over me calmly,
Nothing can deter me now,
From seeing your grace.
Amongst the busy hustling city,
My attention is drawn,
To active invitations by,
The city named Desire.....
She draws me in, teasing,
Raising my manly ardour,
To assume the challenge,
That is laid out before me.
To know love by dawn,
And seductions that hide,
Neath her veil, innocently,
Goading me to falter not.
Lest I rest in peace,
No more to command,
The life of my making,
Lost in her enchanting song.!
