VOTE FOR ME !!!

It's election time again !!!
And the choice is very poor,
We have to make decision soon,
Which party will do more...

They all seem so sure,
Which issues that we need,
To overcome at the outset,
But they overlook the Greed.

We hear sincere pontifications,
About how trustful they can be,
But their actions do disprove this,
Is all that we can see.

Democracy, We're led to believe,
Is a majority having choice,
What's true is, in practice,
They have no real voice.

The Rich and the Powerful,
Control even how we feel,
Taking ever more bonuses,
From our society, they steal.

And what of the poor,
Do they get much better care ?
Or a fair chance to prosper,
How stupid, that they dare !!!

As prices and unemployment,
Continue to rise, sky high,
Any wonder the general apathy,
As we continue to wonder why ?

Somehow superior to the law,
Cheating politicians go Scott free.
And they tell us it is fair this way,
For you, and for me.!!!!

A few principled men,
Are swamped beneath the crowd,
Beaten down in the 'House',
If ever they're allowed.

And still they go on asking,
Please will you vote for me ?
Whilst slating the opposition,
What astounding hy-poc-ricy.

How can we trust you ?
When you fail to display,
Even common decent respect,
We are left here, in dismay.

We are not, born with right,
We must earn, this respect,
But we feel often, mostly,
This path, politicians do neglect.

Is not, your true mandate,
To represent the common need ?
What place then high salaries,
Of this, could you ever concede ?

To us the voting observer,
You line your own pockets,
Spending the common mans taxes,
On more deadly rockets.

If you really believe,
The economy is worth saving,
Why don't we forget,
Overseas wars we are waging ?

They're costing us BILLIONS,
Better spent on our schools,
Teaching compassion and fairness,
Not, forcing our rules !!!

We could lead from the front,
Making society our aim,
Heal the sick, feed the hungry,
Wouldn't everyone gain ?

Yet you care, only OIL,
The power that it brings,
And the Earth it is dying,
Whilst you try to be kings.

I ask you'd consider,
Us, the people who care,
That we might have a choice,
Elevation from a world that's unfair.

So if you'd like, my vote,
Then please be, truthfulness,
Be open and honest,
Let's clear up this mess...

Together we'll be mighty,
And Britain still be Great,
If LOVE be our reason,
Please, don't make us wait.............
