Something magical,
Almost unbelievable happened,
And you and I were there,
The witnesses of it's beauty.
We came to know love,
Instantly and full of passion,
As eyes revealed secrets,
Of our hopes now fulfilled.

Catherine had found Heathcliffe,
And Romeo his Juliet,
Both of us recognising,
A lost soul mate returned.
Together at last, on the beach,
Neath the warm sun,
Shirley Valentine found Costas,
As her heart skipped for joy.

And then all in a flash,
Before we'd even begun,

Left me feeling forlorn.
Alone with a mystery,
Of how victory was lost,
And the sweet memory,

Ne'r recieving an utterance,
Still fighting to believe,
That we'd conquer this love.
