SEASIDE SEASIDE

I see you rolling in, from distant places.
You've been here too, time and time again.
Why you persist in coming I'll never know.
Yet here you are fresh, rushing upon the pebble beach.

Then you're gone, but here you come once more.
Tireless, relentless, calm yet determined to return.
Today I notice how listfully you wallow about,
And remember so painfully how cruel you have been.

Our best friend one day and 'Nemesis' the next,
You have swallowed many, even loving, caring souls.
Truly without compassion,
You wield your mighty power.
And still, little children play as you creep and ebb,
Amazed at all of your lashing, thrashing new faces.
