Colossal Tide

A day like any other day,

I sit and watch the world go by.

The throng of milling people,

Amble on along these dusty streets.

The world and all its’ children,

Seem unaware of this colossal tide.

My knowing observations give rise,

To a swell these banks wont hold.

The power these surging waters bring,

Are devastating in their movements.

But somehow the banks resist the breach,

And nature relents once more.

I feared and not for the first time,

This city would be spoilt by flood.

But today she breathed thankful breath,

And I need fear no more.
