Through the Mirandoor

Through the Mirandoor

Courage became my closest friend for a time,

My determination had suffered the warfare of loneliness.

Your smile was as a beacon, high on the mount,

A siren of salvation coming from unknown depths.

In the abyss of my desolation, a hope had come,

To raise me once more and present me to glory.

This is the place where all of creation had waited,

That I would remember, the love that is you.

Such a long time forgetting the way to really be happy,

And then I awoke, to you standing before me.

Open, honest, caring and willing to be so forgiving,

For the mess that I’d made, ignoring my heart.

But you showed me the passage of time is for nothing,

Unless we reflect with care, the adventure it gave us.

Maybe I won’t forget you, but close you firmly I must,

My future is here calling, the past returns to the dust.
