Watching Me, Watching You

As I gaze about the square,

I see you watching me here.

I spotted you amongst the crowd,

And followed where you walked.

For I am open, full on view,

And show my many sides,

Whilst you hide amongst the trees,

And the milling throng of folk.

Just why you want to notice,

Eludes my careful roving eyes.

But I’m filled with a curious passion,

That you could show me now.

We may yet be as strangers,

But if you’d show me a sign,

Together we could share the view,

From some other place and time.
