She has walked as I alone,
And here we shared the view.
Together we have ran and laughed,
Been covered by the mossy soils.
I see her sitting so quietly,
Her patience to let me be.
As I here upon my lofty view,
I write of all I feel.
So faithfully a companion, she,
Has filled my heart with joy.
I know she feels my gratefulness,
As she waits below, adoringly.
Mans best friend no doubt,
She asks no more than is fair.
But responds with all her gentleness,
As she nuzzles into my care.
