I have been watching keenly,
The actions of these regal folk.
They have mastered their art,
And are consumed by its’ infamy.
They have played for the camera,
And we are all convinced,
As we get lost in this world,
Where nothing is beyond our power.
But when the show is over,
What do we have left to feel?
Our hunger returns with a vigour,
And our thirst goes unquenched.
Respecting the work that is chosen,
It feeds many mouths for a while.
But when the action is done,
Do they promote love with a smile?
Maybe they will yet share,
More than just the talent.
When a world lost in disease,
Is crying out for a cure.
Of course we need to desire,
That we reach for the stars.
But this blanket is thinning,
If it cannot bring lasting warmth.
A few buoyant people have tried,
To use this fame to good end.
What I see is a longing,
To become greater with time.
Sadly the many, covet it all,
Sharing less and less daily,
As the thrill to have more,
Feeds the craving they pursue.
Yes, let us all be famous,
But share the rewards further.
Our love is what will heal,
We all deserve to be free.
