A Town with no Malice

A Town with no Malice

Echoes of laughter still ring,

Listening to voices now silenced.

Not hard to believe an industry,

Had filled these streets now desolate.

It is early evening and yet,

Though summer days are here,

Not a soul stirs, no life,

An eerie quiet chills me.

As I search for a tiny clue,

A man and his dog meandering,

Renounce my fears for Glynneath,

He smiles and reveals her secrets.

Accepting me, a stranger walking,

He greets with a pearly grin.

The soul of these mountains,

Is running deep I now see.
