Common Folk
Those that crave glory,
Will never know this place.
A slice of warm bread eaten,
Is enough to bring a happy face.
Would it not be great,
If the compassion of mortal man,
Was to share a cup of water,
And to be the best we can?
We’ve needed little money,
To give our knowledge to the poor.
So why not move on further,
Bring their level up from the floor?
I’m seeing nodding heads,
But can we act to do much more?
Give a real hope to all those children,
Remove the greed that keeps them poor.
