One Poet to Another
Rhyme, meter, theme.
Melody and inspiration come.
After all, from the inside out,
My duel with thee,
Has forced a gamey flow.
Can you respond to wit,
A passionate folly,
Or even my invitation?
Who will know,
If not we two,
How the battling mind,
Shall raise hope?
Stirrings of friendship,
And of efforts shared,
Rewarding our linguistic art.
