Us Lazy Parents
So who set the example,
We would hope our kids to follow ?
Are we there to spend our time,
Or do we leave them feeling hollow ?
We busy ourselves with work,
Our careers take prime position.
But the real lessons of life,
We are failing to show at all.
When we come in to silence,
Why are we surprised to find ?
Those we say we love are out,
Looking for love from strangers, anyone.
Couldn’t we make more plans ?
Take evening walks through the park.
So that we can share with our children,
The time they need, is that so hard ?
